“Complete” Homes Are the Trend
“Complete” Homes Are the Trend
Contemporary designs lavished with space are proving to be hot property. Over the weekend, the auction of 15 Mill Avenue in Yarraville was over in a whirlwind, hitting a record price for the street of $930,000. This is a massive result as it is $150,000 more than the previous record price.
Auctioneer, Adrian Butera pointed out why this home has been so popular throughout its campaign. “Buyers just want to move into a finished product and right now, family homes which are complete are the trend of today. People wanting to renovate or do their own work has dropped away a little bit. Tender loving care has gone into this home over many years and the family neighbourhood is also an asset. Everyone just seems to know everyone here,” he said.
Those who inspected saw on show a multitude of living areas on offer as well as a kitchen serving in style with quality cabinetry. Sliding doors transitions the series of open plan spaces beautifully out to a landscaped private garden and alfresco area. While upstairs, an opulent master bedroom is a talking point with massive built-in-robes and space for the fashion conscious. This large scale home sited on 344m2 approximately is set in a quiet position close to McIvor Reserve, Yarraville Village, Wembley Primary School, shops and public transport.
Fast, competitive and exhilarating are a few ways to describe this auction. There was no hesitation from the first bidder who confidently yelled out, “$805,000”, he was met by a response of $820,000 and numbers spiralled up quickly. Auctioneer, Adrian said, “Perhaps you should double text to get another bid?” to one bidder who was speedily texting and placing bids on someone else’s behalf. In the end, this three bedroom, two bathroom sanctuary was knocked down to a family, fetching a price well above many of the neighbours expectations.
